Menifee man arrested after struggle with deputies

A Menifee man was arrested on drug charges following a struggle with Sheriff's deputies in Temecula on Monday, police said.

Austin Hughes, 27, was approached by deputies responding to the report of a disturbance in the 26400 block of Ynez Road about 4:37 p.m., according to authorities. Hughes showed symptoms of being under the influence of drugs. He fought with deputies but was subdued and booked for resisting arrest and being under the influence.

A records check showed Hughes had several outstanding warrants.
