Heavy rain that soaked Menifee Sunday and will continue on Monday flooded many roads, led to at least one swift water rescue and forced closure of at least four schools for Monday.
The Menifee Union School District announced Sunday night that Menifee Valley Middle School and Quail Valley Elementary School would be closed on Monday because of flooding on surrounding streets. The Perris Union High School District announced that all its schools would be closed, which includes Paloma Valley High School and Heritage High School.
In the Sun City community, a Fire Department swift water rescue crew helped the driver out of a car trapped in flood water on Sun City Boulevard. As of 7:17 p.m. Sunday night, the following roads were closed, according to the City of Menifee:
-- Cherry Hills Blvd / Golf Course
