Volunteer meeting for Relay for Life set for Dec. 7

A special meeting will be held Dec. 7 from 6-7 p.m. for community members interested in volunteering for the Menifee Relay for Life, scheduled May 6-7, 2017 to help the American Cancer Society raise funds to fight cancer.

The meeting will be held in the area between Chipotle and Starbucks in Countryside Marketplace at Haun Road and Newport Road. Many more volunteers are needed.

"Nowhere else can you make the greatest impact in the fight to end cancer than when you volunteer, raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life," said Joanne Pann-Kydd, community manager for the 2017 event. "We rely on the support of volunteers to help make the Menifee event a success."

Funds raised helps the American Cancer Society provide free information and support for people facing the disease. They also fund cancer research. During Relay for Life events, members of each team take turns walking or running around the track. Teams participate in fundraising in the months leading up to the event.
