Veterans pay a special visit to 96-year-old Marine vet

Members of a local veterans motorcycle club were joined by Menifee Mayor Neil Winter in visiting an ailing 96-year-old Marine veteran at his Sun City residence on Saturday.

"It was great to see the neighborhood, his fellow vets, and others coming to help out Don Reed," Winter posted on Facebook. "Quite a guy. Special thanks to the VFW (Empire Chapter) Motorcycle Club for coming by and donating a new walker and shower assist seat. They are also going to donate time and services to do some needed repairs around the Reed home. Truly a much needed boost for Don."
