A Menifee man was one of two people arrested on suspicion of drug sales at a Menifee gas station on Wednesday, according to authorities.
Ron Burrows, 57, of Menifee (left) and Jimmy Santillan, 39, of Mead Valley were booked at Southwest Detention Center for alleged possession of methamphetamine for sales, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.
Sheriff's deputies were conducting surveillance and patrol of the shopping center in the 30000 block of Antelope Road (cross street Newport Road) about 5:30 p.m. when they observed what appeared to be a drug transaction at the pumps of a gas station in the center. Both men attempted to flee on foot, where chased and detained.
A search of the men and their vehicles revealed over one pound of methamphetamine and a large quantity of cash.
