Road work to widen intersection at Haun, Holland Roads

Motorists are urged to use caution at the busy intersection of Haun Road and Holland Road while crews work to create additional lanes intended to improve traffic flow.

The intersection, which is controlled only by stop signs, has become even busier since the opening of the Town Center Marketplace to the north on Haun Road. It also becomes very busy when students are transported to and from local schools.

According to Jonathan Smith, director of public works for the City of Menifee, the project will widen the streets to accommodate new turn lane pockets at the intersection. It will also help prepare for future traffic signal installation when that becomes the west end of the Holland Road Overpass.

That bridge over Interstate 215 is in the final design phase and construction is expected to begin next year.
