Officials at Mt. San Jacinto College released details Wednesday on the threat written on a bathroom wall of the San Jacinto campus earlier this week.
Increased patrols by campus security officers and Riverside County Sheriff's deputies are continuing following the threat, which was discovered Monday night. Specifics of the threat were not released on Tuesday, but a photo of the message was released to the media Wednesday after officials learned it was being circulated on social media.
In part, the message reads, "December 18th 2016, I will be shooting 12 students, 4 teachers, then myself" and concludes by saying "people will (expletive) die." Because of the explicit language and profanity used in the message, the photo will not be shown here.
Students and staff will be given regular updates on the investigation and classes will continue as usual, school officials said. The fall semester ends Dec. 16. Security has also increased on the Menifee campus, even though no threat was found there.
Authorities are seeking information about the incident and the person who originally posted the photo on social media. Anyone with information should contact the Sheriff's Department at 951-791-3400.
