Honors society collects toys, food to help MSJC families

Mt. San Jacinto College’s Beta Delta Omega chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honors society collected food and toys to put together holiday packages for about 50 MSJC students or families of employees in need as part of its annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive.

This effort was supported by the MSJC Foundation through a mini-grant, as well as donations from the Soboba Foundation. Each year MJSC students and employees nominate other students, faculty and staff with families in need to receive the holiday gifts.

MSJC student and PTK member Michael Carrier recalled helping a recipient of the drive last year. The recipient told him she was grateful to be able to put groceries on her shelf.

“To know that we’re helping families the way we are means a lot,” Carrier said.
