A Moreno Valley man was arrested for auto theft Tuesday after being located by Sheriff's deputies in the Romoland community in Menifee, authorities said.
Members of the Menifee Police Special Enforcement Team contacted the driver of a black GMC Sierra truck in the parking lot of a business in the 28000 block of Highway 74 about 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release. Deputies discovered that the license plates on the truck were recently stolen in Menifee and the truck itself had been reported stolen a week earlier in Murrieta.
Jesse Andrew Diaz, 31, was also found in possession of stolen credit cards, stolen property and methamphetamine. He was booked at the Southwest Detention Center.
