Roy Fisher showed his knowledge of birds when he identified this as a white tailed kite, a member of the hawk family that was considered extremely rare in the 1940s but has grown steadily in population since. Roy took this shot of the bird as it rested on a bush near the Audie Murphy Ranch Skate Park.
