Krispy Kreme, one of the most anxiously awaited businesses by Menifee residents, has pushed back its opening date again to Nov. 15 -- the first date that has been announced as the official opening in a news release.
The popular doughnut chain has not had a store in Riverside County since the Temecula location closed in 2006. Its fresh-baked doughnuts -- on display for shoppers to see in the baking process and available at a drive-up window -- make it a popular destination with residents. Menifee 24/7 has received more inquiries about the opening of this business than any other in the last year.
Located in the new Town Center Marketplace at Newport Road and Haun Road, Krispy Kreme will open at 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 15.
The original opening date was estimated at some time in October, then Nov. 1. It was announced unofficially as Nov. 8 just over a week ago. According to Gina Gonzalez, economic development manager for the City of Menifee, the opening was pushed back another week because of the expectation of a huge opening day crowd, allowing more time for employee training.
