A Hemet man faces a charge of false imprisonment following a confrontation with a student at Mt. San Jacinto College on Monday, according to authorities.
Tyrell Brown, 29, of Hemet is accused of approaching an 18-year-old female student in a restroom on campus at about 9 a.m. According to a Sheriff's Department news release, the suspect attempted to prevent the student from leaving the bathroom stall and told her to put on clothing he had with him.
The victim refused to comply and defended herself from the suspect, eventually fleeing from the restroom without injury. Brown was arrested at his residence on Tuesday and booked at the Southwest Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Deputy Waters at the Hemet Sheriff's Station, 951-791-3400, or by email at hemetstation@riversidesheriff.org.
