White, Luna help Heritage remain undefeated, 49-14

Sherod White ran for 143 yards and three touchdowns and Javier Luna rushed for 176 yards and one TD Friday night to lead the Heritage High School football team to a 49-14 victory over Corona High.

The defense excelled as well, helping the Patriots improve their record to 5-0 entering a bye week before Sunbelt League play begins with a game at Lakeside on Oct. 7. Heritage has outscored its opponents this season, 178-48.

Heritage opened the scoring with a 2-yard run by Cesar Diaz just before the end of the first quarter. Luna made it 13-0 with a 1-yard run in the second quarter and quarterback Devan Freedland hit Rashoud Shelton with a 34-yard pass for a 20-0 halftime lead.

White added a 2-yard run in the third quarter and touchdown runs of 1 and 4 yards in the fourth quarter.

Heritage's final score came on a 17-yard touchdown run by Brandon Marshall.
