Two Menifee residents were arrested after Sheriff's deputies discovered a large amount of stolen mail and personal information of victims, authorities said today.

Deputies from the Menifee Special Enforcement Team conducted a probation search at a residence in the 29000 block of Sun Country Lane on Aug. 4, according to a news release. They discovered over 165 pieces of stolen mail belonging to over 80 residents of Menifee and surrounding cities. Also discovered were over 100 "personal profiles" containing victims' personal information, including Social Security numbers and credit card numbers.

In addition, 11 stolen credit cards and 8 stolen driver's licenses were recovered.

Tonia DeLeon, 31, and Jose Rivas, 31, both of Menifee, were booked at Southwest Detention Center for possession of stolen mail and personal information. Investigators have linked the suspects to three open fraud and theft cases in Menifee, according to the news release. The U.S. Postal Inspectors Office is assisting in the investigation and prosecution of the suspects.

Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call Deputy Wilson at the Menifee Sheriff Station at 951-210-1000, or by email at PerrisStation@RiversideSheriff.org

  1. Go to council meetings and voice your complains. They meet 1st and 3rd Wednesday. Of course I'm not saying it will do any good but it does make you feel like you have done something to let them know about your concerns. Just saying

  2. Valley Wide Rec RUINED the pretty parkways in Menifee Lakes. They intentionally let everything die by turning off the water then NEVER replanted a thing! What happened at the meeting last night at the Cisneros senior center about the MESS Valley Wide Rec made of the parkways down Newport and Menifee rds? I wanted to go to the meeting last night about the dead parkways in Menifee Lakes. But I had the flu. Did ya all know that Valley Wide Rec owns the land that runs down the sides of the parkways? They've been getting tax payer money to maintain it but they turned off the water and let it die months ago. Claiming it was a state mandate to conserve water- but here's the kicker- ALL water restrictions for outdoor watering in the state were lifted! Plus the water usage for this small area is like a half a drop in the bucket! LOL! Then Valley Wide Rec put up these stupid signs- months ago- saying that it was a beautification drought project area! LOL! Valley Wide is located in San Jacinto and they are ripping us off and making our once pretty Menifee Lakes look like trash! Valley Wide sent me a stupid email claiming the work would be done by the end of August- yeah right! They've done NOTHING! It's a mess and only getting worse!

    1. honestly I'm glad they turned the water off. That's what messed up the roads when they were watering the grass? If you remember....the water always had runoff into the main road which caused Potholes from over use of over watering. Also, We live in the desert. no-one should be watering grass in California. put in drought tolerant landscape like the middle median!!

    2. I think what Dana left out was that the City ordered Valley-Wide to stop watering. The City placed a stop-order on VW. The dying grass has nothing to do with VW and everything to do with the City.

    3. Well I'm glad to read that somebody else is seeing the same thing as my husband and I are beautiful Menifee town looks like it's so ran down and old with everything dying off and not being replaced with something. My husband and I have lived in Menifee for 23 years and it's really sad to see this area go down as fast as it has, so much for green.

  3. i think that's what Dana meant, that they turned off the water and let everything die, but then never replanted anything, like drought tolerant plants. it would be a shame that the residents pay a lot of money for beautiful homes in beautiful neighborhoods, not to mention the HOA's they pay to then only have the neighborhoods look like a mess and especially for valley wide rec to continue to charge residents money for a service they are not providing and are lying about!
