Here are some last-minute reminders from the City of Menifee Community Services Department about Saturday's Independence Day event:
-- Temperatures in the mid 80’s are forecast with a comfortable 67 degrees at 9 p.m. for fireworks.
-- Event begins at 4 p.m. The Kids Zone features bouncers, zorb racing, obstacle course, and a video game truck. A $5 wristband is required.
-- No parking signs along La Piedra Road are now posted and the Sheriff’s Dept. will be enforcing this. Most of La Piedra will open for event parking following the parade (approximately 6 p.m.).
-- The parade begins at 5 p.m. down La Piedra Road.
-- Live entertainment on the main stage begins at 6 p.m.
-- Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. sharp.
-- Event parking before 5 p.m. is available on residential streets and Menifee Road (up to event road closures near the park)
-- BBQ’s are not allowed at the park this year.
-- Wheatfield Park allows dogs, but they are not recommended for this event.
-- ATM’s will be on site but it is recommended you bring cash. There are over 50 vendors this year.
