Menifee Mayor Scott Mann will spend much of July in Cambridge, Massachusetts, attending the Harvard Kennedy School of Government's Executive Seminar in State and Local Government.
Mann announced his acceptance into the program in a news release this week. The event, which will run from July 11-29, is intended for his personal and professional development and is not being funded by the City of Menifee.
The program provides traditional and hands-on learning experiences to help public officials meet the changing needs of their communities. The John F. Kennedy School of Government offers master's degree in public policy, public administration and other areas. It conducts research in subjects related to politics, government, international affairs and economics.
"I'm looking forward to learning how I can serve Menifee residents in a more collaborative way, both locally and regionally," Mann said in the news release. "Jut like our award-winning local schools, I believe in life-long learning. I'm excited about capturing new skills to challenge assumptions and conventional wisdom, to develop new frameworks for addressing policy and engage the public in more meaningful ways."
