A fire that began in the attic of a single-family home in Menifee spread to the carport and bedrooms and displaced two adult females and a dog early this morning, according to fire officials.
Firefighters responded at 6:40 a.m. to a residence in the 26900 block of Pinehurst Road, just west of Bradley Road in the Sun City community. The fire spread the entire length of the attic and dropped down into the carport, damaging two vehicles. Two and a half bedrooms were also damaged and the house was deemed unsafe for occupation.
The house suffered an estimated $175,000 in damages. The Red Cross was called in to assist the displaced residents.
