The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is seeking any information the public might have about a home invasion robbery in Menifee on Wednesday, authorities said.
A 55-year-old man and his 82-year-old mother were hospitalized with serious injuries after being assaulted by an armed suspect about 4 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a news release. Police said a black male adult forced entry into a residence in the 26200 block of San Quintin Road, just south of Newport Road and west of Killington Drive, assaulted the victims and stole their van.
The van was abandoned after it was disabled at the intersection of Ridgemoor Road and Sun City Boulevard, police said. Investigators are following up leads on the case.
