Host Families for International Students Urgently Needed

Despite repeated requests for volunteers to host international students in Menifee this summer, many more host families are needed, says the local program coordinator.

Kristi Jo Aguirre said there are about 50 students who have yet to be placed in Menifee, Murrieta or Temecula with less than four weeks until their July 6 arrival date. Host families play an important role in the positive experience of the students, who come from China, Russia, Italy, France and Spain as part of the Educational Homestay Program.

Students will be in the area from July 6 to Aug. 1, studying at Bell Mountain Middle School and learning about American culture.
