Menifee Youth to Compete in MLB Event at Big A

Four youngsters representing Menifee youth baseball and softball will compete in the MLB Pitch, Hit & Run team championships Saturday morning at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

These players were among a group of winners in their category from Menifee at the MLB competition held May 15 in Chino Hills. Performances of the winners were compared against the other sectional winners in Southern California to determine which would be among the 24 finalists to compete in Angel Stadium Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Those competing representing Menifee are:

-- Jeralynn Wells in the 13/14 softball division
-- Lukas Tello in the 7/8 baseball division
-- Jaxon Baker in the 9/10 baseball division
-- Michael Downtain in the 13/14 baseball division

The MLB Pitch, Hit & Run competition is held nationwide to test the baseball and softball skills of young people.
