City crews began work this week on improving the trail bordering Paloma Wash, which runs from Newport Road south to Holland Road.
This trail was designed as an access road for maintenance vehicles but has become a popular walking, jogging and biking trail. This has created some wear and tear on the path, so the Community Services Department began making improvements on May 9. Sections of the trail will be closed intermittently during the construction.
That area is a busy one, with construction on the adjacent Town Center Marketplace also continuing. As contractors fill cracks in the pavement and add a new slurry seal cover, trail users are urged to use caution and check signage for the latest information.
Total repair cost is $25,000, according to a City news release. The project is being funded through Trails Developer Impact Fees, which is restricted funding paid for by developers for trails within the city. For more information, call 951-723-3880.
