Tolle, Ponce De Leon Are Heritage Athletes of Month

Pitcher Kyle Tolle of the baseball team and pitcher Alina Ponce De Leon of the softball team are the Menifee 24/7 March Athletes of the Month from Heritage High School, sponsored by Photos DLite photography studio.

Tolle has performed well all season for the Patriots baseball team. He has a 1.85 ERA in 30.1 innings pitched for the Patriots. He also is hitting .440 with 5 RBIs.

"Kyle has put in a lot of effort to improve his game from last year," said his coach, Scott Montgomery. "He is committed to creating a winning culture here at Heritage High School through his hard work and dedication. Kyle has done a great job of leading by example and of teaching the younger players how to buy into the philosophy of our team and create lasting success."

Ponce De Leon had a productive month of March to help the softball team get off to a solid start and she has continued to excel. As a pitcher, the senior has a 5-4 record with one shutout and nine complete games. She has struck out 49 batters in 34.1 innings.

"Alina is an exemplary student and athlete," said her coach, Angela Ramiro. "She has worked hard all throughout her four years at Heritage and she will continue to excel in her future at Holy Family in Philadelphia."

Ponce De Leon accepted an athletic scholarship to Holy Family in February.
