A Lake Elsinore man was arrested and booked for possession of methamphetamine for sale after an investigation indicated he has been transporting and selling large quantities of the drug in Menifee, Perris, Lake Elsinore and Wildomar, police said today.

Arthur Fontaine, 53, was taken into custody on Thursday about 6 p.m. after deputies from the Sheriff's Department Special Enforcement team served a search warrant at a residence in the 28000 block of 10th Street in Lake Elsinore. At that location, 2 ounces of meth and U.S. currency was seized.

The investigation began April 12 with a previous search warrant served at a residence in the 28000 block of Highway 74 in Lake Elsinore.
