Public Hearing Set for Aldi Liquor License Application

A public hearing will be held at Menifee City Hall during the March 23 Planning Commission meeting to consider an application for the sale of beer and wine at the Aldi supermarket currently under construction.

The application is to allow the sale of beer and wine for off-site consumption -- a routine application for the opening of such a business. Aldi is one of several businesses under construction in the Town Center Marketplace, a 100,000-square-foot commercial center located on the southwest corner of Newport Road and Haun Road.

Aldi has conducted interviews for jobs at the store, which is scheduled to open in late spring or early summer. Aldi operates nearly 1,500 stores in 32 states.

City Hall is located at 29714 Haun Road. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
