Paloma Valley High Athletes of the Week: March 20

Each week, Menifee 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Paloma Valley High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select athletes based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Paloma Valley High School Athletes of the Week:

Winter Carreno of the girls track team tied the school record for the high jump with a leap of 5-2 recently. She also competes in the long jump and 100-meter hurdles.

Jacob Desouza had 66 kills and 54 digs last week for the boys volleyball team. He is one of the team captains.

"He was strong both offensively and defensively and is one of the hardest workers on the team," said his coach, Katie Bradley.

Braeden Deleon is the No. 1 singles player on the boys tennis team. He swept all three of his matches against Tahquitz.
