A young cancer patient and his family from Menifee will participate in the Walk for Kids to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California.
The family of 12-year-old Tristen Crouser, who was diagnosed with leukemia at age 2, will take part in the walk April 3 at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario. All funds raised from the participants in the walk will go to help families with seriously ill children.
According to Monique Crouser, Tristen's mother, the Ronald McDonald House helps children and their families who are battling cancer have a place to stay while their child is in the hospital. The Camp for Kids allows young cancer patients and their siblings to attend a free camp session for one week a year.
Tristen has spent more than 900 days in the hospital over the years but received a life-saving bone marrow transplant from a donor in Germany last year. The Crouser family's goal is to raise $5,000 to send five kids to camp this year.
