A one-goal margin was the difference Tuesday as the Paloma Valley High School girls soccer team lost a second-round game to visiting Patriot High of Riverside 4-3, dropping out of the CIF-SS Division 6 playoffs.

The Wildcats, who made it to the championship game last year, finished with a 10-11-4 record.

Julia Fernandez (7) of the Wildcats advances the ball as teammate Makayla Lane-Adams (12) works against a defender.
