A 15-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday after he was seen running from the scene where a 14-year-old male was shot in the head, police said today.
Riverside County Sheriff's deputies from the Perris Station responded at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday to a call of assault with a deadly weapon. The incident took place in a shopping center parking lot at the northeast corner of Perris Boulevard and Nuevo Boulevard.
Officers found the 14-year-old bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a hospital, where he is in critical condition, police said. Witnesses identified the attacker as a male known to the victim.
After a brief search of the area, deputies located and arrested the suspect.
