Each week, Menifee 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Paloma Valley High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Paloma Valley High School Athletes of the Week:

Shayla Jackson of the girls tennis team has played consistently all season long, said her coach, David McCoy. "Shayla has come up with some big wins as of late," he said. "We are looking for her to play a big role next year as a team captain. We will see what her role will be next year, as either a singles or doubles player. She is really good at taking her shot when she has an offensive opportunity."

Demarco Prewitt and Steven Bradshaw of the Wildcats football team were honored for their performance the last two weeks as the team heads into tonight's regular-season finale against Temescal Canyon. Prewitt, a senior running back, has rushed for 766 yards and 9 touchowns this season. Bradshaw, a sophomore linebacker, has been in on 65 tackles.

Chana Hart is a freshman middle blocker for the girls volleyball team. "She has been a great addition to our team," said coach Stephen Kaas. "She brings the athleticism that we need to play at the highest levels."

Hart's teammate, Aeris Woods, was honored for her accomplishments the previous week.

Tristan Sylva of the boys cross country team ran a team-best 16:14 at Mt. San Antonio College as the varsity boys took second place for their heat in a recent invitational.
