Whatley, Orzech Named Paloma Valley Athletes of Month

Football player Cameron Whatley and volleyball player Mikenna Orzech have been named Menifee 24/7 Athletes of the Month for September from Paloma Valley High School.

Whatley, a senior wide receiver, leads the Wildcats with 19 catches for 284 yards and 5 touchdowns. Thanks to his acrobatic play and clutch catches in the end zone, Paloma Valley is 3-2 heading into Friday night's Sunbelt League opener at Lakeside.

In Paloma's most recent game, a 34-21 win over Temecula Valley Sept. 25, Whatley had 5 catches for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Orzech has been a consistent player for the girls volleyball team. She is a returning starter and captain of the team, which is 1-1 in league play. She has 57 assists, 11 aces and 15 blocks for the Wildcats.
