Menifee City Council Candidate Stu Blaze brings 40+ years of experience in the business world to his run for Menifee City Council. He has successfully served people all his life and is looking forward to serving all of you. As a past Menifee business owner, Stu is the only candidate who has signed both sides of a paycheck.
Blaze came to Menifee in 2000, before it was incorporated, and began putting roots down in the community almost immediately.
His love of the community is shown in his varied service, including his activity in the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce, where he currently serves on the board. Whether it is volunteering to put on the just completed Mayor’s Ball or his long-time service on the Committee for Unification of Menifee Schools, Stu can be found serving the people.
It is this civic involvement, along with his business acumen, that motivated the local Menifee Rotary Club to tap Stu Blaze as their President-Elect (Stu was also chosen as Rotarian of the year in 2014-2015).
Additionally, when Blaze decided to step up for the recently-called special election, he caught the attention of the Riverside Sheriff’s Association, which voted unanimously to endorse him for Menifee City Council.
"When we interviewed Mr. Blaze, we understood right away that he speaks from life and business experience," said Robert Masson, President of the RSA. "We knew we were not dealing with a jaded bureaucrat or someone who had been conditioned to give careful answers to questions. This transparency is what drew our board to Stu."
Running Menifee like a business means attracting and maintaining the next generation of Menifee residents by addressing the chasm between rental property prices and the nearly $330,000 average cost of a new home in Menifee. Stu Blaze recognizes that Menifee has an award-winning city plan that needs to be adhered to and by doing so, will solve the problems facing young families, and at the same time he understands and knows what it takes to keep that small town feel.
The fundamentals of Blaze’s economic growth plans are to manage traffic effectively; set city policy that encourages business in Menifee; and planning that manages growth and development without the last second micromanagement that sometimes plagues the planning process.
Instead of building indiscriminately, Blaze is a proponent of well-planned, well thought-out mixed-use projects like the Menifee Town Center. He believes that the needs of the Menifee market and consumer should drive development, not the unrealistic expectations of bureaucrats.
Stu Blaze is a proponent of transparency in government and seeks to make himself accessible to the community. Blaze would serve his first year on the Menifee City Council while also serving as the President of the Menifee Rotary Club.
Stu Blaze is truly a citizen legislator and man of the people with an open door and an open ear to promote Menifee as The City of a Lifetime.
