Another sudden and unpredictable thunderstorm settled over parts of Menifee again on Wednesday, Sept. 9, flooding local streets and Interstate 215 and tossing around fences and lawn furniture with high winds.

Most parts of the city were hit at one time or another, some multiple times throughout the afternoon with high winds, pouring rain and thunder. Residents could drive in and out of rain cells across the city, then turn around and find different weather patterns minutes later.

Temperatures reached 100 degrees by late morning but dropped about 20 degrees by late afternoon as the storm moved through the area. Skies were expected to clear Wednesday night and temperatures would return to the high 90s on Thursday, according to weather.com reports.

Wednesday's storm lasted longer than a similar downpour that covered parts of Menifee on Tuesday. Incidents reported by residents on the Menifee 24/7 Facebook page included:

-- Downed fences and a severely damaged shed in Quail Valley.

-- Scattered brief power outages, including at Paloma Valley High School as school was letting out, in the Sun City core area and other areas.

-- A brief period of nearly undrivable conditions on Interstate 215 because of standing water on the freeway, wind and poor visibility.

-- Downed power lines near Menifee Road and Nuevo Road.
