Menifee 24/7, which presented the very popular Halloween Festival the last two years, is partnering with the City of Menifee to co-host an even bigger and better event this year.
Rebranded as the Menifee Fall Festival, the event will expand on many of the popular elements of the Menifee 24/7 Halloween Festival and the City of Menifee's Halloween celebration of past years. In addition, the venue has moved to Audie Murphy Ranch Sports Park, where a lighted soccer field provides a much better environment for the festivities. The date is set for Saturday, Oct. 24 from 4-9 p.m.
The Halloween costume contest that became so popular at Menifee 24/7's event the last two years will again be held, this time with greater resources to facilitate faster registration. Once again, there will be games and candy provided by Menifee 24/7 sponsors. But this time, there will be much more.
Thanks to the City of Menifee's Community Services Department, the event now will also include:
-- A wide variety of food vendors and other community vendors
-- Live music on stage by the Backseat Pilots band
-- An expanded kids zone
-- A petting zoo
-- Outdoor screening of the animated children's film "ParaNorman."
In addition to two parking lots at the sports park, there will be parking available on Newport Road and surrounding side streets. There's lots of parking in the streets on the other side of Newport Road, where houses have not yet been built. Traffic control will assist in slowing traffic on Newport Road and helping pedestrians across the street at the traffic signal at Derby Hill Drive.
