Free Spay/Neuter Services Offered to Pets in Menifee

The San Jacinto Animal Shelter is offering 500 free spays and neuters for pets of low-income families in Menifee, thanks to a renegotiation of the City's contract with the shelter for animal services.

Menifee City Manager Rob Johnson reported during the Sept. 2 City Council meeting that the City is saving $38,000 through an adjustment to its annual contract with County Animal Services. Operational and maintenance costs were eliminated from the contract and the free spay/neuter service was added.

Residents must show proof of residency in Menifee. Johnson said there is a federal designation for low-income status, but he urged all to apply. Residents can fill out an online form here to make an appointment for the surgery.
