Everyone Gets Into the Act for Heritage, 56-6

It was all Heritage High Friday night as the Patriots blew out West Valley 56-6 in a nonleague football game in Hemet. Heritage improved its season record to 4-0.

Heritage got on the board early when Javier Luna took it in for a 1-yard touchdown run. Later in the quarter, quarterback Brett Virgil hit Aleva Hifo for a 65-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Heritage came out strong in the second quarter when Jalen Glover returned a punt 98 yards for a touchdown to make it 21-0. At this point in the game, the second stringers started coming in.

"There was a number of kids that work hard at practice and bust their tail, so you take advantage of an opportunity to get them into the game," said coach Kraig Broach. "It was great to see them executing and it was rewarding and fun for them."

Heritage went on to score three more touchdowns to make it a 42-0 lead going into halftime.

The Patriots started the second half right where they left, driving down the field when Kahlil Jones took it in for a rushing touchdown. At the end of the third quarter, it was 49-0 Heritage. West Valley finally got on the scoreboard with less than two minutes to go in the game.

"Those kids work hard over there," Broach said about West Valley. "That coach should be commended for the way his kids played throughout the night. They were outnumbered but they kept on fighting."

Next week Heritage takes on Etiwanda in its last nonleague game.

"Well, we will focus on Etiwanda and they are one dang good team," Broach said. "I like playing on the road, so we will see what happens next week."
