Freeway, Newport Road Closures Set for Aug. 24-26

Interstate 215 lanes under the Newport Road bridge and Newport Road itself will be closed during the late-night hours on Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 24-26.

As reported earlier and as visible on the attached map, traffic traveling northbound on I-215 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on those nights will be diverted off the freeway and will use the off- and on-ramps at Newport to get around the construction and return to the freeway. This will take place while falsework is erected to facilitate construction at the interchange. Southbound traffic will be diverted to the off- and on-ramps on the other side of the freeway from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

In addition, Newport Road will be closed from Antelope Road to Haun Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will be diverted south on Antelope and Haun to reach Scott Road for freeway access.

Crews are trying to complete this phase of the Newport interchange project before Labor Day. There will be intermittent lane closures on the freeway and bridge between Aug. 27 and then.
