Update: Menifee 24/7 originally reported that Spirit Park is scheduled to open Oct. 31. However, Menifee City Manager Rob Johnson said Friday an opening date has not been determined. Final inspections would have to take place after construction is completed.
The newest park in Menifee is taking shape and will be open for use sometime this fall.
Spirit Park, part of the Audie Murphy Ranch development on the north side of Newport Road at Berea Road, is in the final stages of construction. Crews continue to work on the landscaping in what is planned as a memorial park area at the east end of the 8.78-acre park. Work also is continuing on two lighted tennis courts and two lighted basketball courts. There is also a shade structure and playground area.
Spirit Park is one of several improvements required of Brookfield Residential, the primary developer of Audie Murphy Ranch. It is named in honor of former Menifee resident and war hero Audie Murphy and other local war veterans. It is located near the Silvercreek community, being developed by KB Home.
The park will be open to the public.
Looks like the city is trying to block another improvement project.
ReplyDeleteOur home backs into the park and they've cut off the housing track. We've lived here 9 years and enjoyed walking to the Stater Brothers shopping center. Now that walkway has been cut off from us. Not cool.
