Thousands Pack Wheatfield for Independence Day Event

A crowd estimated at 5,000 packed Wheatfield Park Saturday night for a parade, festival, band concert and fireworks show in Menifee's annual Independence Day Celebration.

Sponsored by the City of Menifee, Lake Menifee Women's Club and Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District, the celebration began with a parade of local dignitaries, service clubs and youth organizations. Vendor booths throughout the park served food and sold other items. Bounce houses attracted big crowds of kids.
