Police continue to search for a Menifee man suspected of kidnapping in the disappearance of his business partner last month, authorities said Wednesday.
An arrest warrant has been issued for German Gonzalez-Garcia, 23, on a charge of kidnapping with a $1 million bail. Riverside County Sheriff's deputies are searching for leads on the whereabouts of Gonzalez-Garcia (right) and Gabriel Milane, 51 (left). It is believed Gonzalez-Garcia fled to Mexico, authorities said. Milane was reported missing by family members on May 24.
On that date, deputies responded to a residence in the 25500 block of Margarth Street in unincorporated Perris. Family members told deputies Milane had not returned home from a piece of property he owns and thought it was unusual. Prior to contacting police, family members had searched the property and located evidence of a possible physical altercation.
An investigation indicated that Milane was involved in the illegal cultivation of marijuana at the property. Milane rented part of his property to another person for the purposes of cultivating marijuana, according to authorities. Investigators believe Milane and Gonzalez-Garcia had an argument over missing marijuana and/or revenue generated from the marijuana. It is believed that Milane's disappearance is possibly related to an altercation between the men.
Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is encouraged to contact Investigator McClanahan or Investigator Carranza at the Lake Elsinore Station at 951-245-3300 or 951-776-1099.
