A 17-year-old female from Menifee suspected of drunk driving was booked into Juvenile Hall after fleeing from police during a DUI enforcement patrol Saturday night, police said today.
The juvenile failed to stop for a Menifee Police Department officer and led police on a high speed chase. The driver ran stop signs and traffic signals, then turned off all her vehicle's lights in an attempt to evade capture. She was taken into custody while attempting to hide at a Murrieta gas station, police said.
Here are the results of the DUI patrol conducted that night from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.:
-- 32 vehicles were stopped
-- 1 driver was arrested for fleeing a police officer with reckless disregard for the public's safety
-- 19 drivers were cited for unsafe driving actions
-- 17 drivers were given standardized field sobriety tests
-- 0 drivers were arrested for DUI – alcohol
-- 3 drivers were arrested and cited/released for driving with a suspended license
-- 2 drivers were cited/released for driving unlicensed
-- 4 vehicles were towed
