Four teachers from area high schools were recently honored by students of the Menifee Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Crystal Apple Awards.
The awards were voted on by seminary students of the Menifee Stake. A total of 45 teachers were nominated. The awards recognize teachers who "go above and beyond."
The winners were:
Mike McGregor, Paloma Valley High School
Doug Fairchild, Heritage High School
Max McNeal, Santa Rosa Academy
Rose Henderson, Perris High School
Also in attendance were 25 young men and 23 young women from the LDS Stake; teachers and parents; Riverside County Supervisor Marion Ashley; and LDS Stake President Michael Gray.
"If you want to be a great educator, you must be more involved than just teaching," Gray said. "Educate to make it fun. Inspire students to work harder. Give guidance as a trusted source for advice. We honor all you teachers tonight. Thank you."
