Sheriff's deputies in Lake Elsinore are looking for two suspects in connection with a vehicle theft and kidnapping in that city this afternoon.
Officers responding to a residence in the 17300 block of De Brask Avenue at 2:08 p.m. were told that the owner of a Toyota truck parked the vehicle in front of his residence and momentarily went inside the home, leaving the vehicle running with his child asleep inside. When the owner exited the house, he saw two people get into his vehicle and drive off, police said.
Officers set up a perimeter with the assistance of air support and a police K-9 unit. The air unit located the stolen truck abandoned in the 29800 block of Clement Street. The child was still in the vehicle and unharmed.
The description of the two suspects, as provided by police:
-- A Hispanic male adult in his 20s, medium build with tattoos on both arms and wearing dark clothing.
-- A white female adult in her 20s, thin build with blond hair and black roots wearing a black hoodie.
Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact Officer Williams or Officer Messien at the Lake Elsinore Police Department at 951-245-3300, or after hours at 951-776-1099.
