Paloma Valley High Athletes of the Week: May 29

Each week, Menifee 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Paloma Valley High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Paloma Valley High School Athletes of the Week:

Third baseman Ryan Kemp is hitting .380 with 23 RBIs for the Wildcats baseball team, which is 20-8 overall heading into today's CIF quarterfinal playoff game at Bishop Amat. Kemp was 2 for 2 with a game-saving defensive play in Paloma Valley's first-round win over Xavier Prep.

Sophia Cadenhead recently completed a standout girls track season after winning the Sunbelt League championship in the 800 meters and finishing second in the 1600. "Sophia worked extremely hard all season long and her marks improved each week," said her coach, Juan Merida.
