A Fallbrook man accused of secretly recording a woman inside a dressing room in a Canyon Lake business has been arrested after a search of his home, police reported today.
Rodney Petersen, 48, was booked into the Southwest Detention Center for disorderly conduct, burglary and violation of probation.
Officers from the Canyon Lake Police Department responded at 5 a.m. on May 14 to a business in the 32100 block of Railroad Canyon Road regarding a male who allegedly was using an electronic device to secretly record a woman. The suspect fled prior to the officers' arrival and Canyon Lake investigators assumed the case after a search of the area failed to locate the suspect.
After a lengthy investigation, detectives identified the suspect and conducted a probation search of his residence in Fallbrook. During a search of the residence, numerous items of evidence were collected linking him to the crime. Additionally, several firearms and ammunition were located inside the residence in violation of his probation.
