Skydiver Dies in Accident at Lake Elsinore Facility

A skydiver died in an accident near the Skydive Elsinore facility Saturday afternoon, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the report of an "air emergency" after an employee of Skydive Elsinore, 20701 Cereal St., discovered that a skydiver was down. The victim was located within minutes, just north of the airport. Advanced lifesaving measures were administered but the victim died from his injuries on the scene, authorities said.

The identity of the man has not been released.
