Blessing of Animals Scheduled at Church of Christ

Menifee United Church of Christ will host a Blessing of the Animals celebration for the community on April 18 at 11 a.m.

"Earth Day is coming up on April 22," said Senior Minister Bill Freeman, "so we wanted to have a fun event to honor that."

Rev. Freeman will bless people’s pets and children’s stuffed animals in the front yard of the church. All pets should be on a leash or in a carrier. Retrievers and Friends of Southern California will be on hand with several animals available to be adopted. Anyone who adopts such a pet will receive from the church a $25 gift certificate to a local pet store.
