Southshore Elementary Color Run is Smashing Success

Residents of all ages took advantage of a sunny day and lots of flying color powder in Menifee Saturday in a successful fundraiser, the Southshore Elementary School Color Run.

Children and their parents made up the majority of the crowd, which took off from the starting line near the parking lot at Mt. San Jacinto College on a 3.1-mile run through local streets. Passing Wheatfield Park, heading south to Craig Avenue and back north to the college, participants were doused with color at seven stations along the route.

Funds raised through the event will go toward purchasing school supplies for Southshore Elementary. The Southshore PTA coordinated the event, which was supported by the City of Menifee. Local police officers helped preserve the safety of participants as they walked, jog and ran the route.
