Perris Traffic Collision Results in One Man's Death

A Moreno Valley man died today from injuries suffered in a traffic collision in Perris.

According to a Sheriff's Department news release, a 2005 Mazda driven by a 20-year-old male was heading eastbound on Mountain Aevnue about 8:05 a.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car entered the westbound lanes and was struck by a Town & Country minivan driven by a 28-year-old female Perris resident.

The minivan was knocked on its side and the Mazda caught fire. Firefighters and paramedics arrived and provided medical aid to both drivers. They were both transported to local hospitals with severe injuries. The male driver later died as a result of his injuries.

The identities of the accident victims have not been released.
