Joshua Allec, 13, of Menifee received the rank of Eagle Scout during a ceremony at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Jan. 30. Among the many supporting Joshua that night were his parents, Rick and Connie Allec, brother Jordan and sister Carlie.
Older brother Jordan received his Eagle at 13 years and 8 months. Joshua achieved his goal by beating his brother by two months, receiving his Eagle at 13 years and 6 months.
For his Troop 695 Eagle project, Joshua coordinated a music concert held at the Sun City Gardens in October. Two local bands donated their time and talents -- a jazz band from Hans Christensen Middle School and the Spoonz, a local cover band. Over 130 people enjoyed the concert.
Admission was a canned food item. In all, 250 pounds of food were collected that night and donated to the Menifee Valley Community Cupboard. Friends and family made homemade refreshments with a total of more than 560 hours of donated time.
