Community Cupboard to Host Celebrity Karaoke Event

The Menifee Valley Community Cupboard is hosting its 10th annual Celebrity Karaoke event on March 6 in order to raise funds and awareness for the fight against hunger and malnutrition in the Menifee Valley. 

The Celebrity Karaoke event will include dinner, a no-host bar, a silent auction and entertainment and will be emceed by celebrity guest Bob Madden, AM DJ for the Mix 101.3.

The Menifee Valley Community Cupboard is a federally designated 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing nutritional emergency food at no cost to those in the area who desperately need it. This includes local seniors, the homeless, families in crisis and the working poor. 

One in six Americans is food insecure. Children in families that are food insecure experience difficulty in school as a result of malnutrition, while senior citizens experience greater susceptibility to illness without access to healthy food.  

In 2014, the Cupboard distributed more than 11,400 food boxes, bags and backpacks, providing meals for more than 550 households and 1,128 individuals. This includes a school backpack program the Cupboard sponsors to provide weekend food to elementary school students who rely on the school nutrition program as their primary source of food.
